Bugatti Veyron Super Sport Does 246 MPH At Sun Valley Road Rally : Video

When you think of racing and performance, one of the last places you associate it with is Idaho. The state was recently host to the 2014 Sun Valley Road Rally though, which saw an amazing variety of cars participate in a no speed limit road rally on Highway 75, just north of Ketchum. The participants see how fast they can go on the closed section of road as they roar by spectators, and all the proceeds from the event support the anti-drug charity, the Blaine County Community Drug Coalition.

Multiple Bugatti Veyron and Veyron Super Sports showed up at the event, including the one off Pur Blanc example. The car is the only white and black Veyron SS in existence and like the 29 others, has an 8.0-liter quad turbocharged W16 engine producing 1200 horsepower. This helps it reach a top speed of a record-breaking 267 mph, a figure it wasn’t far from hitting at the Sun Valley Road Rally.

As the Veyron approaches the spectators with the needle on its dashboard inching towards 246 mph, it sounds more like a fighter jet about to break the sound barrier than a car. The video also looks as if its sped up, putting the almost comically fast nature of the Veyron into perspective. The Sun Valley Road Rally is something we’ve never heard of before, but after this, we’ll have to keep a closer eye on next year’s event.
