Possible Porsche Macan Turbo S Spied Testing On The Nurburgring: Video

The ultimate performance variant of Porsche’s compact Macan SUV, the Turbo, packs a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter V6 engine under its hood good for 395 horsepower and 406 lbf-ft of torque. But the Macan may now be in line to receive a small performance boost in the way of a new ‘Turbo S’ variant after a mysterious prototype was filmed undergoing testing at the Nurburgring.

The Macan Turbo prototype seen at the ’Ring had a bit of camouflage on the rear hatch and windows, which is odd as the Macan Turbo is already on sale. This has led some to speculate that Porsche has a Turbo S model in the works, which like the 911 Turbo S, would receive small performance enhancements in additional to an incremental increase in power. The Macan Turbo will sprint from 0-60 mph in 4.8s and has a top speed of 165 mph, figures which would most likely improve in the Turbo S. It is also currently available with a ‘Sport Chrono’ pack which reduces the 0-60 mph time to 4.6 seconds.

It is believed that if Porsche does have a Macan Turbo S in the works, it would go on sale sometime in 2015 with a price tag of around 90,000 euros ($122,500 USD), which is realistic when taking the Turbo S’ MSRP of 79,826 euros ($108,651 USD) into consideration.
