Will The 2015 Mustang Be Delayed?

Everyone waited patiently for the 2015 Mustang to be unveiled to the world. After the December 2013 debut, Ford hinted that the first Mustangs would hit the street starting in July 2014 but now, seven months later, we learn that enthusiasts may have to wait until September.

Mustang6g.com is saying that a dealer bulletin indicates the first of the 2015 Mustangs will be built starting today, but they won’t be available to the public. Instead, these cars will be part of a fleet of pre-production vehicles to sort out any last-minute bugs. The actual Mustangs slated for public consumption will start production September 9.

But are you one of the folks anxiously waiting for a 2015 Mustang convertible? Get used to waiting because the first pre-production ragtops will be built starting on September 14, with regular production commencing on October 27.

Autoblog.com reached out to a Ford representative who replied, “There are multiple build schedules for any product that we build. We don’t recognize any of those dates.”
