Ferrari To Bring New Turbocharged ‘M458-T’ To 2015 Geneva Motor Show

Ferrari will add a second turbocharged model to its lineup when it introduces the new 2015 M458-T at the Geneva Motor Show next year, according to an exclusive report from the United Kingdom’s CAR Magazine.

The M458-T, referred to internally by Ferrari as the 142M, will be a heavily revised, facelifted version of the current car. It’s twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V8, presumably a version of the engine found in 2014 California T, will develop 670-horsepower, 100 horses more than the current naturally aspirated model.

CAR says an extensive array of design changes were required when switching from a naturally aspirated engine to a turbocharged one. There will be larger intakes outfront and intakes on the sides to help feed air into the engine. The bumpers will also be reshaped, LED lights will be added and the aerodynamics will be improved for additional downforce.

The M458-T will receive the more up-to-date technology from the California T, that means a Harmon-Kardon infotainment system will be integrated complete with Apple’s CarPlay for iPhone users. More information is expected to emerge as the 2015 458’s debut date at the Geneva Motor Show in March approaches.
