Volkswagen Teams With Funny Or Die For Some Goofiness: Video

The Volkswagen Golf is a very important product in the company’s lineup. Initial reactions have been positive, but Volkswagen wants to inject the Golf with a heave dose of humor. The Funny or Die partnership looks to bring some of the best leaders in automotive and humor together for some lighthearted fun.

The campaign launches with “The Way Too Helpful Neighbor” and stars Rob Huebel as the ever intrusive, but caring neighbor. After learning his friend’s girlfriend’s parents are on the way over, he realizes its the perfect time to show off the 2015 Volkswagen Golf’s versatility by taking it on a massive shopping spree. Sure, there could have been some hooning around on the way to the store, but this is Funny or Die, right? The helpful neighbor decides driving through the store is the better option.

“The incredible versatile Volkswagen Golf gives our creative team free reign to come up with wild ideas,” said Vinay Shahani, Vice President, Brand Marketing, Volkswagen of America, Inc. “Funny or Die is one of the most recognized and sought after brands in comedy today so we knew they would be the perfect partner to amplify Volkswagen’s unique sense of humor.”

The video highlights some of the new features on the 2015 Volkswagen Golf including the nifty back-up camera, which peaks out from under the Volkswagen badge in the rear.

The campaign debuted during CONAN on TBS September 11th, and 20-second clips with run alongside The Big Bang Theory and other TBS movies. Funny or Die also reminds you to please, not drive through shopping centers of any sort in a 2015 Volkswagen Golf. Check out the video here:
