Volkswagen Auto Group is investing in a new facility for the upcoming Bentley SUV, rumored to be named “Falcon.” The new factory will produce the bodywork for the Bentley SUV in Bratislava, afterwords the body will be shipped to the marque’s home country to install its custom hand made interior in the UK, according to VW spokesperson Vladimir Machalik.
The Bratislava manufacturing plant is currently under construction, and is estimated to cost $760 million and feature 1,000 robots for the automated processes for the Bentley SUV assembly. Good news for the region, as the new facility will create 500 new jobs, but it will require skilled workers to fill the new positions for the Bentley SUV.
The facility will also have the capability to produce the body work for the corporate cousins of the Bentley SUV: the Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne and Volkswagen Touareg.
