2018 VW Touareg Test Mule Spotted In Germany, Could Debut In 2017

A test mule of the new 2018 VW Touareg was recently spotted in Germany. This new SUV is expected to be revealed in late 2016 and should be a 2018 model.

The anticipated 2018 VW Touareg will be built on VW’s MLB Evo platform as a shortened SUV. The new platform debuts with the 2016 Audi Q7 and will eventually feature numerous Audi and even some Bentley and Porsche models.

There is strong speculation that the new Touareg will follow the development of the next-generation Porsche Cayenne and will contain many of the same, albeit down-scaled, features.

Currently, there isn’t much known about the next-generation Touareg. Speculation is the styling will follow new elements from the VW Passat as well as upgraded technology features, lighter weight and improved powertrains like a hybrid. There is also speculation it could have a 10-speed transmission.

More prototypes should hit the roads next year. For a full gallery, visit Motor Authority.
