Ford To Feature Three Special 2015 Expeditions At SEMA

The current-generation 2015 Ford Expedition has been in production since 2007, but received a refresher in February for the 2015 model year. Now, Ford is taking the revised Expedition to new heights with three special concepts set to debut at the 2014 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) show in Las Vegas with help of three of the industry’s top builders.

2015 Ford Expedition By Tjin Edition

“The Tjin Edition Ford Expedition is intended to showcase a Ford vehicle featuring capability for towing, one that can serve as a daily driver and is a standout as a promotional show car,” said Tjin Edition’s Neil Tjin.

Starting with Ford’s 365-horsepower 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 and six-speed automatic transmission, Tjin Edition adds a Vortech Engineering charge cooler kit and MagnaFlow side exhausts to boost the power to 405 horses. Underneath, you’ll find a chassis customized by Unique Fabrication featuring Air Lift struts and an Accuair air management system. All this rolls on 24-inch custom Rotiform wheels and Falken tires with stopping duties courtesy of Baer Brakes’ big brake system.

2015 Ford Expedition By DUB Magazine

“Expedition already has a great look and design,” said president and cofounder of DUB Media, Myles Kovacs. “We wanted to take that foundation and create something that takes upscale travel to another level, taking cues from airline travel.”

Hence, DUB gave the EcoBoost a Borla Performance exhaust system and a suspension kit from McGaughy’s Suspension Lift Kits to lower the Expedition. Outside, you’ll find mesh accents and custom lighting plus custom DUB Edition badging and tinted windows. Pirelli tires wrap around 26-inch DS644 Dropstars Wheels. Inside, the rear seating area has multiple monitors that can be viewed from many angles, both inside and outside, perfect for playing video games and browsing the Internets (of course, it has both).

2015 Ford Expedition XLT By Vaccar

“I was excited to do something that showcases the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, and express aggressiveness on the outside while adding to the great comfort that is on the inside,” said creator and lead designer for Vaccar, Aaron Vaccar. “I wanted to create a rolling lodge.” A lodge on wheels? We like that.

Receiving a custom mix of two-tone matte gray, Vaccar’s Expedition is complemented by a Vaccar Grill Guardian brush guard bull bar, Monster Hooks swivel hooks, Go Rhino! spring steps and hitch stop, and Yakima Products’ MegaWarrior cargo basket. The SUV also sports Mamba Off-Road Wheels’ 20-inch M15s mounted on General Tire Grabber AT2  tires. Inside you’ll find Vaccar Lux Ultra-Suede silver upholstery for the ultimate in comfort while enjoying winter driving in style.

You can see all three Expeditions on display at SEMA November 4th through the 7th at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
