Scratch Those Lotto Tickets Harder, The Porsche 918 Is Nearly Sold Out

According to the automaker, the very limited-run Porsche 918 hybrid super car is nearly sold-out.

Porsche refuses to disclose how many of the cars are produced each month, but the planned production-run is scheduled to run out by July, 2015. With every car set to be produced through late March/early April already spoken for, that leaves very few available.

So far, just over 30 Porsche 918 Hybrid cars have been delivered to customers worldwide, with the majority going to garages here in the United States. Porsche has evidently done a good job of attracting potential customers with exclusive events and promotions, but now that the automaker is on the home-stretch, they can probably cease their small-scale advertising.

Word is out on whether a successor to the Porsche 918 Hybrid will come forth soon, or what that might look like. But with the excellent McLaren P1 and Ferrari LaFerrari holding open the market for limited-run hybrid super cars, we do hope Porsche will work out a new flagship hybrid super car for the future.
