Tesla Loses Second Communications VP In 6 Months

Playing second fiddle to the exuberant Elon Musk seems to be a tough position to maintain with Tesla Motors losing its vice-president of communications and marketing – again. This is the second time in six months the automaker has had to replace this position.

The latest VP, Simon Sproule, is off to join Aston Martin as its chief marketing officer. This position has been vacant for over a year. While there, Sproule will join Nissan’s former executive and now CEO Andy Palmer.

While this news is great for Aston Martin with their current plans of launching a new product line with a new platform, it is bad news for Tesla. It is anticipated that Tesla will soon launch the super-fast Model S P85D and the launch of a “mass market” Model 3 early next year. The latter model is aimed at compact premium sedans like the BMW 3 series.
