Upcoming Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Racer Is Ready To Hit Every Apex: Video

The Lamborghini Gallardo was a legend in its own right. It became the poster car for many when a bystander thought Lambo. The Lamborghini Huracán built on the successful formula, and trumps the Gallardo in nearly every way. Now, Lamborghini plans to take its Huracán racing in the company’s first in-house competitive racing program with the Lamborghini Huracán GT3.

The video takes place at the Vallelunga circuit near Rome where previous Gallardo and Murciélago racers where tested by Reiter Engineering. The teaser video shows the charging bull’s creation sprint the course camouflaged, but there’s no hiding the wide body kit and hammerhead spoiler. The car should remain fairly true to the production version, but in order to meet FIA GT3 regulations, expect the racer to shed a few hundred pounds from its curb-weight. The Lamborghini Huracán GT3 may need an even more stringent diet if it plans on running the same 5.2L 600 hp V10 seen in its road going form, though.

Lamborghini could ditch the all-wheel drive layout as Audi and Bently have with their GT3 iterations of road going vehicles in order to help the weight figure, but we should know more in the coming months about what the Lamborghini Huracán GT3 has in store.
