2015 Ford F-150 Rolls Off Assembly Line For Consumers

The first 2015 Ford F-150 rolled off the  Ford Rouge Center assembly line today marking a historic moment for automaker. This new truck is one of the most highly anticipated trucks Ford has produced in years.

When Ford introduced the new truck in January at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show, interest in the truck skyrocketed. Ford says the innovative truck has hit “records levels of interest.” The proof is in the numbers with more than 225,000 submission for contact information and more than 250,000 customers using the website to build and price a new 2015 Ford F-150.

“The all-new 2015 Ford F-150 is a showcase of innovation and class-leading capability for truck customers,” said Mark Fields, Ford president and CEO. “It underscores the product excellence and innovation we are delivering in every part of our business as we accelerate our pace of progress toward profitable growth.”

With the new 2015 Ford F-150, the company is breaking new ground by being the first mass-produced truck in its class to feature high-strength, military-grade, aluminum-alloy body and bed. By using this material, Ford had to conduct an extensive remodeling of its three manufacturing facilities to build the new truck.
