Ford Motor Company U.S. Sales Down 2 Percent To 188,654 Units In October 2014: By The Numbers

Ford and Lincoln dealers delivered 188,654 new vehicles in the United States in October 2014, down 2 percent from October 2013. Ford says that the sales decline was expected, and that it can be attributed to the plant changeover for the introduction of the all-new 2015 F-150.

Daily rental sales declined 13 percent in October and 18 percent year-to-date October, with Ford stating that the drop is part of a planned reduction for 2014. Government sales grew 4 percent and commercial sales increased 18 percent.

“Fusion is an outstanding success story with October marking six straight months of record sales,” said John Felice, Ford vice president, U.S. Marketing, Sales and Service. “Fusion is on pace to break the 300,000-vehicle mark this year for the first time ever. Plus, based on the strong sales of the all-new MKC, Lincoln produced its best sales results in October since 2007.”
