Fleet News considers itself “the leading source of news and expertise for decision-makers,” so they should know what vans meet the needs of fleet customers. Now, after surveying 180,000 folks in the United Kingdom, Fleet News has crowned the Ford Transit “Most Reliable Van.”
Reliability surveys like this are quite different from those we normally read about from Consumer Reports or J.D. Power − with those, it’s all about initial quality or long-term reliability and such, not to mention we normal people have numerous Plan B’s on which we can rely to get through the day. But with fleets, reliability is critical for business − with a sidelined van, you have no business.
The Ford Transit, which was recently replaced by a new model this past summer, is also joined by two other Ford products: the Focus-based Ford Transit Connect in the number three spot, and the Ford Transit Custom in the number nine spot.
Americans should be familiar with the Ford Transit because it replaced the 40 year-old Econoline Van this past summer.
