How It’s Made – Porsche 918 Spyder Edition: Video

We can no longer purchase an example of the supreme, track-dominating Porsche 918 Spyder, but that does little to spoil the fun of watching the hyper car’s construction through wistful, teary eyes.

That’s exactly what this video from Porsche allows (and encourages). We get to see the Porsche 918 Spyder at various levels of completion, and watch as trained workers prepare various interior pieces, assemble an engine or two, and put it all together to create one of nine-hundred eighteen beautiful examples of the German marque’s most ungodly creation to-date.

Like the video we shared yesterday depicting the assembly of the Porsche 911’s flat-6, this Porsche 918 Spyder factory video contains no speech – exactly as it should be. But unlike that video, the plant shown here is obviously a good deal smaller and less busy. Every action is precise, exacting, and just what you’d expect from the birthplace of one of the world’s most sophisticated hyper cars.

Enjoy.
