Volkswagen Recalls 7,000 Units Of 2013-2015 Beetles Over Potential Issues With Panoramic Sunroof

Volkswagen has issued a voluntary safety recall for roughly 7,000 2013-2015 model year VW Beetle vehicles due to a possible issue with the panoramic sunroof. Volkswagen states that no accidents or injuries related to the issue have been reported.

The problem: in isolated cases, it is possible that glass from the panoramic sunroof of affected vehicles may break and fall into the interior of the vehicle. If the glass panel were to break while the vehicle is in motion, it could cause driver distraction, increasing the risk of a crash.

Affected vehicles: 2013-2015 model year Volkswagen Beetles with the available panoramic sunroof.

Number of vehicles potentially affected: 7,000 units.

The fix: to fix the issue, authorized Volkswagen dealers will replace the panoramic sliding sunroof in the affected vehicles at no cost to customers.

Volkswagen will notify all owners of affected vehicles and will instruct them to arrange for an appointment with an authorized Volkswagen dealer.
