2015 Shelby GT Orders Now Open

If the 2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 and Shelby GT350R are too Blue Oval for you, then the 2015 Ford Mustang Shelby GT just might suit the bill.

A product of Shelby American (rather than of Ford Motor Company) unveiled last weekend in Las Vegas, the Mustang Shelby GT uses the 2015 Mustang GT as the starting point. Under the hood is the smooth-as-silk 5.0-liter ‘Coyote’ V8, as opposed to the unique 5.2-liter flat-plane ‘Voodoo’ V8 from the Shelby GT350 and Shelby GT350R. Graced with a new Ford Racing supercharger specifically designed for the Coyote V8, the engine produces a healthy 627 horsepower in the Shelby GT. And just in case you need more, there’s also a 700 horsepower version of the as well. In either model, all that might gets sent to the rear wheels through a six-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission from the Mustang GT.

Apart from powertrain modifications, the 2015 Mustang Shelby GT also features a chrome-tipped Borla exhaust system, Wilwood front brakes, 3.73 gearing, 20-inch WELD racing wheels shod in performance Michelin rubber, new rear brakes, adjustable suspension components, and special Shelby-branded interior trim. There’s also carbon fiber aero components, a carbon fiber hood, and a billet aluminum grille.

Shelby American is currently taking orders for pretty much anyone in the world, with first deliveries set for the second-quarter of 2015. All cars will be listed in the official Shelby American Worldwide Registry, cementing them as official Shelby American products.
