Truck Trend Names 2015 F-150 Its Truck Of The Year

The all-new 2015 Ford F-150 has added yet another trophy to its case. This time, Truck Trend has named The Blue Oval’s aluminum truck its Truck of the Year. Given that it’s coming directly from truck enthusiasts, the award carries considerable weight.

“The 2015 Ford F-150 is our toughest, smartest and most capable F-150 ever, and Truck Trend’s Pickup Truck of the Year award reinforces that this is truly the best choice for America’s truck buyers,” said Joe Hinrichs, Ford president, The Americas. “We are proud to receive this award.”

During the multi-day competition, a variety of new trucks were evaluated for design, capability, performance and fuel efficiency.

“Ford has found a sweet spot in the half-ton pickup segment, delivering a compelling mix of efficiency and capability, while still delivering an enhanced driving experience that American consumers demand,” said Sean P. Holman, Truck Trend content director. “What we put these trucks through was nothing short of grueling, and it was the F-150 that consistently impressed our experts.”

Next up, PickupTrucks.com and Cars.com will announce their Truck of the Year/North American Truck of the Year awards next week at the 2015 North American Auto Show in Detroit, Michigan. And even more importantly, the panel responsible for the North American Car and Truck of the Year will announce the winners of its awards. Ford’s 2015 Mustang and 2015 F-150 are both in the running for the venerable honors.
