We hope you weren’t expecting pure, distilled track-side footage of the 2015 Porsche Cayman GT4 lapping the Nordschleife; we don’t have that particular flavor in stock right now.
Instead, this is an advertisement put out by the marque to stress the innate born-for-the-track blood of the new Porsche Cayman GT4, and we have to say; it’s a bit… odd. What do a bespectacled unemployed man, an old woman, a bite-size lapdog, two professional colleagues in a parking garage, and a young mother of two all have in common? They’re all deathly afraid of the Nürburgring, apparently – and the Porsche Cayman GT4.
That doesn’t make sense now, but it will in a few moments.
But as the viewer makes his or her way toward the end of the advertisement, the message becomes gradually more clear: that the Porsche Cayman GT4 is a passionate, exceptional thing, and some people simply aren’t fit to fathom its freaking awesomeness.
Like most Porsche ads, then, it’s quite a bit above, beyond, and over the top. But hey, that works for some; the blokes at Bridge To Gantry broke their own protocol of typically posting exclusively un-produced, lo-fi footage from the sidelines of the Nürburgring, and reuploaded the ad on their own YouTube channel because they were just that taken with the video.
