Audi gave journalists a first look at the second-generation of their R8 supercar earlier this week, spilling the details on its 540 and 610 horsepower V10 engines, seven-speed S-Tronic gearbox and revised steering and all-wheel drive systems.
Unfortunately, Europe’s motoring press were unable to drive the yet-to-be-revealed Audi R8, only being offered a ride along around the Ascari circuit in Spain with brand development driver Frank Stippler. AutoExpress was on hand for the experience and luckily for us, they filmed their ride.
The video, which shows Stippler wheeling the R8 around the notoriously twisty Ascari track, isn’t much, but it’ll have to do for now. Audi is expected show off the production version of the car in Geneva this March, after which plenty more driving footage should surface.
