Ken Block ‘Tests’ The 2016 Ford Focus RS: Video

Professional rally racer extraordinaire Ken Block was invited to give the all-new 2016 Ford Focus RS a workout before its unveiling earlier this week. Proper tests might include acceleration, braking, handling, and suspension rigidity, but we all know that Mr. Block doesn’t sign up for those things.

Hoonage ensues as Block puts the Focus RS through its paces around a road course Ford’s manufacturing plant in Cologne, Germany. There’s plenty of sideways action as the beastly Focus RS makes its way through the parking lot, loading docks and the plant’s interior. The one thing to take away from the video is how the 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder sounds exiting the car’s dual exhaust: raspy, yet almost rally-like in its tone. We’re pretty sure that it’s not accident that Ford tuned the exhaust to sound that way.

With Ford’s preliminary power figures putting the Focus RS at a very healthy 320 horses and 320 pound-feet of torque, we await pricing and availability information when the hot hatch makes its public debut at the 2015 Geneva Auto Show. In the meantime, stay tuned to Motrolix as we bring you as much Focus RS material, videos, and other information as possible.
