2015 Audi Q3 Recalled Over Violation Of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard

Volkswagen Group of America is recalling certain model year 2015 Audi Q3 vehicles. The vehicles do not comply with a Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard.

The problem: if the vehicle is turned off while the sunroof is closing, the sunroof may continue to close instead of stopping. If this occurs and a vehicle occupant is in the path of the sunroof, there is an increased risk of injury.

As such, the vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 118, “Power-Operated Window, Partition, and Roof Panel Systems.”

Affected vehicles: 2015 Audi Q3 manufactured between April 4, 2014 and November 5, 2014.

Number of vehicles affected: 3,646.

The fix: Audi will notify owners, and dealers will update the sunroof control module software, free of charge.

The recall began on April 13th, 2015.

Owners should: inquire about the recall using the following contact information. If the vehicle is part of the recall, owners should bring their vehicle to an Audi dealer to have the sunroof software module updated.
