2015 Ford Fusion Earns ‘Best Hybrid For Families’ Award

For the fourth straight year in a row the Ford Fusion Hybrid has been named the best hybrid car for families by  U.S. News and World Report.

For those thinking, “What the heck are the U.S News and World Report awards?”, let us say that we’re right there with you on that one. But as it turns out, the organization hands out many awards covering everything from cars and hospitals to colleges and grad schools.

But unlike some other awards, like Car and Driver‘s annual 10 Best Cars award or Motor Trend‘s Golden Calipers award, the folks at the U.S. News and World Report are a whole lot less definitive. In the “Best Cars for Families” category, the publication covers everything from “Best Upscale Midsize Car” to “Luxury 3-Row SUVs”, handing out an eye-watering 19 awards in the category. But that’s not all. U.S. News and World Report, a “multi-platform publisher of news and information”, also handed out another 21 awards in its ‘Best Cars for Money’ category, which brings the award total to a nice round 30.

Of course, every automaker is keen to receive praise for its vehicles, no matter who is dishing out the awards. And with four ‘best car for the money’ awards from last year, we’re pretty sure Ford isn’t exactly upset that the Fusion was chosen this year. At the least, the Fusion Hybrid isn’t pretending to be a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV).
