2015 Volkswagen Golf, GTI And 2015 Audi A3 Recalled Over Faulty Fuel Pump

Volkswagen Group of America is recalling certain model year 2015 Volkswagen Golf and Golf GTI as well as certain 2015 Audi A3 vehicles over a potential issue with the fuel pump.

The problem: improper nickel plating of components within the fuel pump may result in the fuel pump failing. If the fuel pump fails, the vehicle will not start, or if the engine is running, it will stop and the vehicle will stall, thereby increasing the risk of a crash.

Affected vehicles:

  • 2015 Volkswagen Golf
  • 2015 Volkswagen Golf GTI
  • 2015 Audi A3

Number of vehicles affected: unspecified.

The fix: Volkswagen and Audi will notify owners of the recall. Dealers will inspect the vehicles and replace any affected fuel pumps, free of charge.

Owners should: Volkswagen and Audi have not provided a recall notification schedule as of this writing, but owners may inquire about the recall using the following contact information.
