Audi topped the free practice session Friday ahead of the 6 Hours of Silverstone, occupying the top two positions and beating out next-fastest Porsche during the first dress rehearsal of the weekend.
Benoit Treluyer set the fastest time of the day at 1:41.526 in the no. 7 R18 e-tron quattro, besting teammate Oliver Jarvis’ time by 0.298 seconds. As Motorsport reports, Jarvis, a brit, was putting in fast laps on home ground earlier on in the day, but then had to hand duties over to Lucas Di Grassi and Loic Duval.
Porsche was third and fourth in their No. 17 and 18 919 cars, respectively, while Toyota struggled with their new Toyota TS 040. The Japanese team’s fastest car was the No. 2 TS 040, which finished the practice fifth ahead of their No. 1 car.
The final practice session ahead of the green flag will begin tomorrow at 9:00 a.m.
