Hellwig Releases Sway Bars, Pro-Series 2 Leaf Helper For 2015 F-150

Eager to upgrade your shiny, new, award-winning 2015 F-150? Then you’re in luck, because the folks at Hellwig, a supplier of sway bars, helper springs, air springs and other load control goodies for trucks and SUVs, already have front and rear sway bars, and a pro-series helper spring for the new aluminum truck.

While their mods won’t turn the F-150 into a fire-breathing VelociRaptor or 2017 F-150 Raptor, the sway bar and spring upgrades will stiffen the truck, reducing the roll rate for better handling and safety in both loaded and unloaded towing and hauling applications, according to the company.

The front sway bar ($352.79) is a continuation of the sway bar found on 2009-2014 F-150s, and even uses the exact same part number (7704). Made from heat-treated chromoly steel, the sway bar is 1.5-inches in diameter and replaces the factory front sway bar. It uses the same mounting points and end links, meaning that the installation only requires basic hand tools and no drilling or welding.

The rear sway bar ($501.75), on the other hand, is all-new for the 2015 F-150. From the factory, the 2015 F-150 is not equipped with a rear sway bar, so the kit includes everything needed to mount it, including axle clamps, end links, bushings and hardware. Hellwig says the bar comes with three holes to allow adjustment to a certain load or driving style. And just like the front sway bar, there’s no drilling or welding required.

Those who frequently tow and haul will be pleased to know of a new Pro-Helper spring for the new F-150. The $316.20 two-leaf spring is rated up to 2,500 pounds (1,133 kilos), and Hellwig says that it will improve towing and hauling performance by levelling the vehicle. The two-leaf installs on top of the factory leaf springs with basic hand tools, and are even adjustable using the U-bolts to tune the preferred rate of springiness. This also means drivers hauling uneven loads can adjust the springs and level the vehicle accordingly.

Hellwig plans to release an air bag kit and 1-leaf EZ-990 helper in the very near future. Until then, happy haulin’.
