Motor Trend Reviews The 2015 Ford Focus ST: Video

The Ford Focus ST has – perhaps for the better – undergone very little change for the 2015 model year. Revised bumpers and exterior lamps, a flat-bottomed steering wheel, and a tweaked suspension promising better steering feel are all that lie on the list of tweaks.

Despite this, Motor Trend decided to revisit the Ford Focus ST in this episode of Ignition, in order to find out if all that adds up to a better car. Perhaps presenter Carlos Lago is a tad biased about it; he freely admits to having adored the hot hatch ever since it first came out.

But certainly, we can forgive him that; the Ford Focus ST is a practical front-wheel drive hatchback with an irreverent sense of humor, and a certain penchant for mischief. The engine in the 2015 model year car is the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-banger, making a mighty 252 HP – or more than enough to generate a jolly amount of torque-steer. The brakes still perform limited-slip-style duties to lend the car some extra agility, and simply put, the Ford Focus ST does quite near everything one could expect of a car, and does it quite well.

Watch the latest episode of Ignition below to get Carlos Lago’s take on the juvenile-minded hot-hatch.
