Porsche U.S. Sales Up 28 Percent To 5,217 Units In April 2015

U.S. Porsche dealers delivered 5,217 new vehicles in April 2015, up 28 percent compared to April 2014. The results represent the first time in history that Porsche exceeded 5,000 sales in the U.S. in a single month.

“The U.S. market continues to show increased demand and passion for Porsche”, said Detlev von Platen, President and Chief Executive Officer, Porsche Cars North America, Inc.

The Volkswagen Auto Group-owned performance luxury vehicle maker recorded year-over-year drops in every model line except for the new Macan crossover, which was the saving grace for Porsche in April. In fact, with over 1,500 units delivered, April 2015 was the compact performance-luxury crossover’s strongest month yet. The Cayenne, meanwhile, remained the most popular Porsche vehicle, selling 1,773 units for a 26.7 percent year-over-year drop.

For the first four months of the year, Porsche sold 16,647 vehicles, up 17 percent compared to the first four months of 2014.

In addition, 1,206 Approved Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) Porsches were sold in April, up 18.8 percent compared to April 2014. The results set a new record for Porsche CPO sales in one month.
