Audi’s theme for the first-ever CES Asia was the rapidly changing landscape of the automotive industry as it adopts new advancements in technology such as autonomous driving, infotainment and connected car systems, among other tech. The automaker says the auto industry will undergo its most extreme change in its 130 year existence in the coming years, and it wants to lead the revolution.
Because of how outspoken Audi has been in regards to the advancement of automotive technologies, the CES organizers granted them with pre-show keynote speaking privileges for CES Asia. Audi chariman Rupert Stadler addressed the media in attendance, outlining the automaker’s plans to continue development on its various technologies.
Audi’s impressive tech includes the implementation of its ‘smart factories’ , the aforementioned autonomous and connect car technologies, and various in-car entertainment advancements. At CES, the automaker’s biggest announcement was the R8 e-tron piloted driving concept, an all-electric supercar equipped with the same self driving tech as its A7 piloted driving concept.
