Bentley Design Director Who Slammed Lincoln Continental Leaves His Post

It’s just recently been announced that Bentley Design Director Luc Donckerwolke has abruptly left his post with the luxury Volkswagen Group brand. He will be replaced by former Audi Designer Stefan Sielaff, effective July 1st.

In a statement issued by Bentley Motors, no reason was given for the 49 year-old’s departure. Back in March of this year, the Bentley Design chief gained some (perhaps unwanted) attention at the New York International Auto Show when he slammed the design of the 2016 Lincoln Continental, accusing it of blatantly ripping-off that of the Bentley Flying Spur. A Facebook post from the Designer simply read: “Do you want us to send you the product tooling?”

As Bentley Design Director, Luc Donckerwolke was responsible for the upcoming Bentley Bentayga SUV, as well as the refreshingly sleek EXP 10 Speed 6 concept – a car so exquisitely chiselled it could start a war.

Said VW Group Design Director Walter de Silva of the Bentley Design Director’s departure: “Luc Donckerwolke has played a key role in the design of various Group brands. We would like to thank him for his work.”
