Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadster Confirmed, Order Books Now Open

The Goodwood Festival of Speed has turned into a mid-summer auto show of sorts, with automakers making major announcements and debuting products at the special event. This year Lamborghini got in on the action, with company president and CEO Stephan Winkelmann announcing the automaker will produce a roadster version of its Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce unveiled at Geneva earlier this year.

Lamborghini says the Aventador LP 750-4 SV roadster will be limited to just 500 units, 100 less than the fixed roof Aventador SV. The arrival of a roadster model is welcome news for those who were unable to get their hands on the Aventador SV, as the model is now completely sold out. Winkelmann says Lamborghini dealerships are already accepting orders for the roadster.

“The Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce is the most pure, sports-oriented and emotional incarnation of a Lamborghini, and all 600 units have been sold, with first deliveries starting now,” Winkelmann said in a statement. “We will also produce a roadster version, which our dealers worldwide are now taking orders for.”
