Take An Interactive Lap Of Circuit De La Sarthe In A Nissan GT-R: Video

Nissan had a rough weekend in France. Two of their three GT-R LM Nismo LMP1 racersfailed to finish the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the third finished so far behind it wasn’t included in the final standings for the LMP1 class. But that’s okay, because this year’s edition of Le Mans was simply a long, real-world test for Nismo and their new endurance racing program.

Even though they finished poorly, you have to hand it to Nissan for innovating and trying something different. This constant pursuit of innovation and the desire to have the next great thing is present in all Nissan facets, like this interactive, 360-degree onboard video of a road-going GT-R lapping Circuit de La Sarthe.

Interactive 360-degree video is hardly new technology, but Nissan’s is definitely one of the better versions of it we’ve used. It works flawlessly in 1080p HD, and is even available in 4K if you have a monitor that supports such resolution types. If Nissan can get their GT-R LM Nismo racer to work as good as this 360-degree video, they just might be in the Le Mans winners circle next year.
