Ford Romeo Engine Plant Evacuated Following Bomb Threat

Ford’s Romeo Engine Plant in Romeo, Michigan was evacuated Thursday morning following a bomb threat, The Detroit News reports.

A bomb threat was called in sometime between 7:00 and 7:30 a.m., which prompted Ford to send the day shift home for the remainder of their hours. The afternoon shift at the plant has been told to report for normal working hours, Ford spokesman Mike Moran confirmed.

Following the threat, the Macomb County Sheriff’s Office was notified and arrived on the scene with bomb-sniffing dogs. A few hundred employees are estimated to have been in the building at the time of the threat, Moran said.
