Dodge Dart GLH With 300HP 2.0L Inbound, Sources Say

Ever since Dodge first pulled the wraps off the Dart at the Detroit auto show in 2012, fans of the SRT4 Dodge Neon have been wondering where the successor to their favorite compact performance car has been. Well stay patient, Mopar compact car fans, because a Dart ‘GLH’ is reportedly in the pipeline.

Dodge revealed its plans to revive the GLH moniker used on the Shelby-tuned 1985-86 Omni GLH during its biannual dealer meeting in Las Vegas this week. The Omni GLH was originally supposed to be called ‘Coyote’, however Caroll Shelby wasn’t a fan of that moniker, instead naming it GLH, which stood for ‘Goes Like Hell.’

You can bet the high-performance Dart will ‘go like hell,’ just as the Omni GLH and Neon SRT4 did. Dodge didn’t reveal too much in regards to the powertrain of the performance compact, but a 1.8-liter or 2.0-liter engine is rumored. Allpar reports a power output of around 300 horsepower, and all-wheel drive is also said to be present.

It’s not clear when the Dart GLH will arrive, but with auto show season on the horizon, you’d be wise to keep an eye out for it in coming months.
