Dodge Revives Plum Crazy Color For 2016 Challenger And Charger

Since being introduced on the 1970 Dodge Challenger, Plum Crazy has become one of the most sought after and celebrated paint hues in the Mopar palette. Dodge has offered the paint color on the current day Charger and Challenger in the past, but they’ve revived it once more for the 2016 model year, offering it for a limited time on all model variations of the current Charger and Challenger.

Customers may begin placing orders for their Plum Crazy Charger or Challegner in October, with the order books staying open through to the end of December. The model is available on Challenger SXT Plus models with the 3.6-liter V6, and also on R/T and R/T Scat Pack models with the 5.4-liter V8. For the true Mopar fan, the 6.2-liter, 707 horsepower Charger and Challenger Hellcat may also be had in Plum Crazy.

“From the aggressive and in-your-face styling of the SRT Hellcat models, the reverberating black stripes on our Shaker models, to the nostalgic dual A-line side stripes in satin black or gloss white on the R/T Classic model – Plum Crazy further builds on Dodge brand’s muscle-car roots and adds to Challenger and Charger’s vibrant legacy,” Mark Trostle, Head of Dodge and SRT Design, said in a statement.

Dodge will show its 2016MY Charger and Challenger in Plum Crazy at the Dodge Rock City booth at this weekend’s Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit. There also be lots of other cool things going on at the Dodge booth this weekend, so if you’re in the Detroit area, be sure to pay them a visit.
