2016 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350, GT350R Configurator Goes Live With Official Pricing

Ford Motor Company has just answered the prayers of every American pony car enthusiast, finally posting an online configurator for the track-slaying Shelby GT350 and GT350R Mustang models with every available knickknack, doodad, and equipment delete option listed in detail.

Thank you, Ford.

Pricing for the 2016 Ford Shelby GT350 starts at $47,795 – quite modest when you consider how effortlessly the car will run circles around any Dodge SRT Hellcat model. The Shelby GT350R, featuring carbon fiber wheels and MagneRide suspension, bases a bit higher at $61,295. But that already comes with all the performance-related fixins; option it up as far as you can, and you’re still looking at a very reasonable $66,860 sticker price.

The all-new 2016 Ford Shelby GT350 and GT350R Mustang models are technical masterpieces in their own right. At the forefront of each car is a 5.2-liter, flat-plane crank V8 that we just can’t seem to stop talking about. It produces 526 peak horsepower and offers an incredible 8,250 RPM redline, making it quite simply the most exotic petrol engine to appear in a production model from any of the Big Three in recent memory.

At 14 MPG city and 21 MPG highway, the EPA-estimated fuel economy numbers are nothing to write home about. But then, that’s not really the point, and within those 14 miles of city driving, you can easily have yourself 100 miles’ worth of fun in the pilot seat.

We say that’s a pretty small price to pay for so much car.
