Bugatti Veyron And Koenigsegg CCX Settle Their Differences: Video

Once upon a time, the Bugatti Veyron and Koenigsegg CCX were the hypercars to have. It’s not that they aren’t special, but they technologically outclassed by the new-generation of hybrid hypercars like the McLaren P1 and LaFerrari and would also get left in those car’s dust on a track, making seem a bit like old news, if you will.

We’re not putting either of these cars down, however. The Bugatti Veyron is an undeniable legend and raised the benchmark for the both acceleration and top speed, and its rather unlikely Swedish rival helped kick start Christian von Koeniggsegg’s zany automotive operation into overdrive.

Both the Veyron and the CCX are absurdly fast, but its never been established which is really the faster of the two. A sanctioned race is out of the question, so the best we can do is a race between some rich guys on YouTube. The Veyron seems like the more obvious choice to win with its quad-turbochagred 1001 horsepower W16, but the Koenigseeg is producing similar power levels from its 4.7-liter twin supercharged V8 and is also lighter.

So place your bets and check out this clash of automotive titans in the video above.
