Hot Rod Garage Swaps A 5.9L Cummins I6 Into A 1973 Dodge D200: Video

The hosts of Roadkill have showed us how to do all sorts of different mods and repairs on their other web show, Hot Rod Garage, but today they’re attempting something entirely new: a diesel swap.

This isn’t just any diesel engine swap, either. Hot Rod Garage went all out, dropping a 5.9-liter Cummins inline-six from a 1995 Dodge Ram 2500 into a 1973 Dodge S200 pickup. They’ll show you how to do everything from lifting the engine out of the old truck to fitting it in the new truck and if you pay attention, you just may learn how to perform a swap like this for yourself.

Of course a diesel engine swap is no easy task, and Hot Rod Garage doesn’t get the entire project completed in this 20-minute episode. They do get the turbocharged oil-burning six-cylinder installed and running, however, so it’s worth checking out in the video above.
