Shelby American Boosts Mustang EcoBoost To 335HP With New Shelby GT Pack

Shelby American is famous for their numerous V8-powered Mustang variants, but the tuning company recently took a step back to modify the more sensible Mustang EcoBoost, giving the car a meaner outward appearance and small horsepower boost.

The Shelby GT package is available for Mustang EcoBoost models equipped with either a manual or automatic transmission. The package includes a Borla exhaust and a computer remap, bumping output of Ford’s 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine from 310 horsepower to around 335 horsepower.

Cosmetically, the Shelby GT package adds 20-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport tires and a new hood, front fascia, side skirts and carbon fiber spoiler. Inside there’s also Shelby Registry badging and Shelby logos on the floor mats and head rests. Optional extras include sport Wilwood brakes, Sparco race seats, Katzkin interior upholstery and a short-throw shifter for manual transmission models.

While not overpriced, the Shelby GT package is far from inexpensive. The package adds $23,995 to the 2016 EcoBoost coupe’s at $26,295 sticker price, putting the price of the total package at $50,290.
