Larte Design Gives The Tesla Model S An Aggressive Makeover

Most people with an eye for automotive design would likely tell you that the Tesla Model S sedan requires no alterations; its gorgeous, clean design comes standard from the factory.

Still, for those who might want their own example to stand out from the crowd, Autoblog reports that Larte Design has baked up a kit for the all-electric sedan, which lends the car a fair bit more aggression.

The Tesla Model S kit from Larte Design features custom bumpers, a new front grille, vents for the front fenders, and revised side skirts. The kit also adds an “electronic sound” to the whisper-quiet Model S drive motors, which Larte Design touts as both functional as a safety feature, and tactful as an addition to the car’s sporty sensation.

According to Autoblog, the Larte Design kit for the Tesla Model S sedan is made from basalt fiber, a material similar to carbon fiber in construction and appearance, but less expensive to produce – at some cost to strength. Still, its specific strength is 3 times that of steel, and it’s used in the creation of bulletproof vests, among other things. A bumper from this Larte Design kit weighs less than 30 pounds, while maintaining a high standard of durability.

The Larte Design kit for the Tesla Model S mightn’t be for everyone; some of the car’s curvaceousness is forced to make way for a more menacing scowl. But for those on the fence about ordering an (expensive) appearance kit from Hong Kong’s Revozport, it’s nice to have an alternative.
