New Audi Lighting Is Both Beautiful And Functional: Video

Audi is extremely focused on future lighting technologies, evidenced by its cutting-edge Matrix laser lighting system and its recent investment in a “Lighting Competence Center” at its main site in Ingolstadt, Germany. They’re back at it with their ‘Swarm’ concept, which showcases a futuristic active rear lighting system.

This concept is meant to show consumers what is possible with OLED technology, according to Jalopnik. Audi says the red lights in the rear are influened by the movements of the car, if a turn is made, they will flow to the left or right, and if the car slows down, they will “flow more dynamically and diffusely.” The faster the car is travelling, the faster the flow of the dots will be, giving the driver behind the car a better idea of what the driver in front is doing.

It won’t be coming to an Audi showroom any time soon, but it’s a revolutionary and purposeful idea from the automaker that seems to always have its mind on next-generation lighting systems. Check it out in the video below.
