The 24 Hours of Le Mans is fast-approaching, with just over a week left until the big day, so let’s turn to our foremost (living) actor-gone-racing driver Patrick Dempsey and get the scoop on his favorite turn on the circuit.
… In a minute. First, some background. You probably recognize the name Patrick Dempsey as that of the actor who portrayed Dr. Derek Shepherd (a.k.a. “McDreamy”) on the TV series Grey’s Anatomy. That’s no cosmic accident; in fact, they are the same person. But Mr. Dempsey recently decided to quit the business of show in order to devote his full attention to racing.
But Patrick Dempsey is no stranger to the world of automotive racing, nor to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. This year will mark the fourth time that the former actor will have taken to the French track, driving in the No. 77 Porsche 911 RSR for Dempsey Racing-Proton. Sharing the responsibility will be drivers Patrick Long, and Marco Seefried.
We at Motrolix would like to wish Mr. Patrick Dempsey godspeed, and good health on the track on June 13th and 14th.
