2012 F-150 SuperCrew To Feature Improved Payload Capacity

According to Ford’s 2012 Fleet Preview Guide, the infamous F-150 SuperCrew will be offering a sufficient increase in payload capacity from 2,000 pounds to 2,590 pounds (for the two-wheel-drive model) with a 6-foot-five-inch cargo bed and 1,890 pounds to 2,340 pounds for the four-wheel-drive variant.

According to Pickuptrucks.com, the extra backbone is expected to come when the truck is equipped with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 with 365 horsepower and 420 pounds-feet of torque. By comparison, the 2012 F-150 SuperCrew dwarfs the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 crew cab, which currently rates at 1,705 pounds of payload.
