Dodge Channels Its History For New Cinematic Ad Spots: Video

Dodge debuted its first commercial featuring the likenesses of company founders John and Horace Dodge late last year. The automaker has now expanded on the campaign, introducing four new ad sports which again feature the two brothers and “capture the brothers’ passion for making great cars.”

The four separate ads are for the automaker’s 2015 Dart, Durango, Charger and Challenger models. Directed by Academy Award-winning actor Adrien Brody, the 30-second cinematic spots are set in the late 1800s and early 1900s and tell brief stories from the Dodge brothers’ past before relating it to a contemporary model.

“Today’s Dodge vehicles have the same passion for performance as John and Horace Dodge established in the first vehicles they crafted more than one hundred years ago,” said Fiat Chrysler’s chief marketing officer, Olivier Francois.

The centerfold of the commercials is a 60-second spot titled ‘First Dodge’, which tells the story of how Horace and John’s first ever motorized vehicle, a motorbike they built in their teens. A 30-second version of the spot will also join three other 30-second ads when they take to the airwaves and are broadcast on primetime and entertainment programming as well as major sports programming, including NASCAR and MLB coverage.

The ‘First Dodge’ ad can be viewed below and you can watch the other ads on Dodge’s official YouTube channel.
