Ford and the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration announced a recall for 14,737 vehicles due to a faulty body control module that could short out and cause a fire. The vehicles involved in the recall include certain 2011 Edge, F-150, F-250, F-350, F-450, F-550 and Lincoln MKX vehicles built during a six-day period.
Dealers are to inspect the module and replace it if necessary — free of charge. NHTSA says work will begin on or before January 10, 2010, and if owners of the aforementioned vehicles have questions, they can contact Ford directly at 1-866-436-7332.
