Ford To Auction Off 50 Year Limited Edition Mustang At Barrett-Jackson

Earlier this year, Ford introduced us to the 50 Year Limited Edition 2015 Mustang at the New York Auto Show. The limited-run car is available only in Wimbledon White or Kona Blue exterior colors, has model-exclusive chrome trim and comes with nearly every option box ticked. Only 1,964 50 Year Limited Edition Mustang’s will be made, and thanks to Ford, interested buyers have the chance to own one a little ahead of time.

Ford will auction off 50 Year Limited Edition Mustang No. 1,964 of 1,964 at the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas auction in late September. If you haven’t already guessed, Ford made 1,964 examples of the car as 1964 was the year the first Mustang debuted. In addition to the car, the winning bidder will also receive a VIP package to attend the Ford EcoBoost 400 NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Homestead-Miami Speedway on November 16, where the No. 1,964 50 Year Mustang will serve as the official pace car.

The car will be auctioned off as part of the annual Get Your Heart Racing program, which raises funds for the Edith and Benson Ford Heart & Vascular Institute at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. All proceeds from the sale will benefit the charity and the car will be officially unveiled at the ‘Get Your Heart Racing Pit Party’ a fundraiser at the Eastern Market in Detroit on September 12.
