Ford To Produce 730,000 Vehicles In Q2 2012 In North America

When announcing Ford and Lincoln sales results for February 2012, The Blue Oval also released its North American production plans for the second quarter of the year, which spans the months of April, May, and June. Overall, Ford plans on building 730,000 vehicles during Q2 2012 — a 3 percent increase (or 20,000 vehicles) compared to the Q2 2011.

Additionally, Ford announced that its production forecast for Q1 of 2012 of 675,000 vehicles remains on track and will not be changed.

The Motrolix Take

730,000 vehicles is quite the production goal. Think about it — if Ford were to sell every single one of the vehicles it made — and we were to use simple arithmetic to average out those sales — then that would equate to over 243,300 sales per month! That’s a sizable increase from the 179,119 units sold in February.

Of course, not all of the 730,000 vehicles manufactured in the second quarter will be sold… or sold evenly, for that matter. Nevertheless, the plan still calls for higher production than Q1 does — and that’s nothing to sneeze at.
