After the market failure of the Ford Edsel, making a business case for the Mustang was most definitely a challenge. But it was a challenge that Lee Iacocca took on, and for which he proved victorious, thereby being widely credited of being the father of America’s pony car. Luckily, Iacocca — who is now 89 — paid a visit to Jay Leno’s Garage. He was in good company, which consisted of the first Mustang prototype, the first Mustang, and the 2015 Mustang, as well as Bob Fria, author of “Mustang Genesis”.
