U.S. Volkswagen dealers delivered 30,009 new vehicles in April 2015, down 2.67 percent compared to April 2014.
Despite the drop in overall sales, the all-new 2015 Golf continued to sell well in the market, recording a model cumulative of 5,508 vehicles — the best April for the nameplate since 2000. Sales of the Golf were bolstered by the Golf R and the all-new 2015 Golf SportWagen — the official vehicle of USA Cycling.
“We are encouraged by the performance of the Golf family, delivering the best April in15 years, and happy to see the momentum is amplified by the addition of the Golf R and Golf SportWagen joining the lineup,” said Mark McNabb, chief operating officer, Volkswagen of America.
