Ford China Sales Up 67 Percent To 73,040 Units In February 2014

Continuing the trend of strong demand for The Blue Oval’s cars and utilities in Asia, Ford China sales grew 67 percent year-over-year to 73,040 vehicles in February 2014.

Total passenger car sales for Ford China, which include imported cars, grew 88 percent in February to 56,284 vehicles sold, compared to 29,950 in February 2013.

Of those 56,284, Ford’s passenger car joint venture, Changan Ford Automobile (CAF), sold 53,272 vehicles in February, a growth of 81 percent from the 29,389 units sold during the same period last year. On a year-over-year basis, Ford Mondeo (also known as the Fusion in North America) sales grew 123 percent to 7,755 vehicles in February, while Focus sales were up 13 percent to 27,899 units.

Ford’s commercial vehicle investment in China, Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC), also posted healthy growth results with a 22 percent increase in sales in February to 16,756 units, compared to 13,684 in February 2013.
